  • 70% of our food is Green (choose plenty)

  • 30% of our food is Amber (select carefully)

  • 0% of our food is Red (occasionally)

Caring for students and our planet

Metro Canteens SA helps South Australian schools reduce waste through responsible packaging, recycling initiatives and environmentally conscious school canteen practices.

Packaging, recycling and environmental duties:

  • We use compostable products at all our schools.
  • We support the “StrawNoMore” campaign, follow industry trends, and remove single-use plastic containers wherever possible. The use of such packaging is ZERO at all our schools.
  • We recycle packaging using the Containers for Change Program and endeavour to keep refuse to a minimum.
    The waste is limited to 1 GREEN BAG at all our schools.

Following these protocols allows us to act as better canteen suppliers in Adelaide and the rest of South Australia.
